The Wild Whimsy Girls

For the longest time I've been wanting to make my own mannequin. So last week (after the inspirations of Farm Chicks were still fresh), I did just that. I made my first dummy and used my mothers mannequin as a mold and just taped and deco paiged around it (with plastic protecting my mothers mannequin, of course). I also had old lamp stand that worked beautifully as a base. I will do it a little differently next time, but I do love results of my map girl. Here are some pics.....I'm still trying to think of a name for her.

So many great idea's for old windows

From the west side...

As many of you may know(and maybe SOME dont) Wild Whimsy consists of two gals, almost 300 miles apart. Yes, it is odd to some, but for us, it works!

I absolutely could not imagine doing a show with anyone else! We call eachother occasionally(usually at least every other day) to share our "finds" over the weekend, each gathering different things and running home to snap a picture to send over via e-mail to see what the other thinks!

We discuss paint colors, themes, and booth set up, all over the phone and e-mail. We send eachother links from eachothers local craigslist to scout out, and upcoming yard sales that we think eachother should go to. It is fun... and sometimes alittle hard.

From the West side, I pick up things.

And from the East, she picks up things.

And WILD WHIMSY comes together each summer/fall to create our FAB booth!

This year, we have some great things we are going to be doing! AND heres a sneak peek at some items to expect at our show! VINTAGE BARN! Go check it out and we will see yah all there!!

Happy Mothers Day!

I just bought this picture at a garage sale and I wanted to post it as a tribute to Mothers past and present. My mom is the one that taught me to scout out good junk and be resourceful in decorating my home. I love using the tools she taught me to repurpose things, recycle things, and re-paint things to make them truly unique four our Wild Whimsy booth. So here's to Junkin Mama's everywhere!
